In the latest release, DriveWorks 10 has gotten great praise in the CAPINC office from our Engineering Manager Jason Pancoast. His favorite enhancements thus far to this new version are with Form Designer. “I like being able to lock the position of a control on a form, and also being able to apply text formatting within a Label. I had to do some legacy work in DriveWorks 9 and I was missing these new features especially!”
So far the most exciting thing Jason has used DriveWorks for is to take an automation project and use DriveWorks Live to allow forms to be accessed through a web browser, and DriveWorks Autopilot to have SolidWorks generate models on demand, so many new designs could be custom quoted and re-engineered quickly and easily from anywhere in the world.
Overall, Jason enjoys DriveWorks’ ability to dynamically update forms based on rules, especially image properties. There is an amazing variety of ways to guide people through inputting design data, and making relevant choices. Dynamic images make an automation project’s user interface clear and enjoyable.
