Tips, Tip Shields and Brush/Flicker Replacement
The purpose of this blog is to remind FDM users that tips, tip shields and brush/flickers for Stratasys Dimension 1200 models and Fortus 250 models require replacement. Tip shields and brush/flickers need to be replaced every 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 hours. Your printer software will alert you when these replacements need to be made via a pop up message that you will receive when you start the software. By replacing them on time you will cut down on service calls and potential down time for your machine.
Please note that this pop up message will appear once every 500 hundred hours and will only appear for the first user to run the software after the 500 hour mark. Once 2,000 hours has been reached you will need to replace the tips, tip shields and brush/flickers. The tip kit comes with 4 sets of tip shields, 4 brush/flicker assemblies, and 1 set of tips. Tip kits can be ordered through CAPINC.
It is best practice to empty the purge bucket after every build. If the purge bucket is not emptied before material reaches the top of the bucket you can run into messy builds or other issues that may require service. Directions on replacing the tips can be found in the user guide located in the start-up kit.
